To my knowledge, this is the very first A FA maternity uniform. Worn from the late 1970s to 1981, this jumper was made by Fashionaire. (Please note: I am missing the next issued maternity uniform worn from 1981 to 1985. This uniform was also a jumper that was designed by Joyce Dixon. If you can help with my search, Please contact me.)
This is the maternity jumper worn starting in 1985 and was made by Brookhurst, Los Angeles. This is the serving garment made by Angelica to be worn over the maternity jumper. It is adjusted to be made tighter or larger by straps on the side of the topper. When Grief Companies took over the production of the maternity jumpers in the 1980s, it was redesigned to have a V neck collar. This is the final maternity jumper pictured here with a current FA blouse. Very similar to the one made by the Grief Companies, this jumper has different pleats and a slightly different fabric. Made by VF Imagewear, it is no longer available from the manufacturer. This is the current FA maternity uniform. Pictured here is the short sleeve maternity top with regulation maternity skirt. The current maternity top is also available with long sleeves and may be worn with regulation maternity slacks as seen here.. |
